Jewish Learning Retreats

Moishe House Jewish Learning and Leadership Retreats are multi-day, immersive learning experiences that train Jewish young adults worldwide in ritual and program skills. They are:

  • Immersive: Enter a new (head)space that’s away from the everyday.
  • Inclusive: Learn in a truly pluralistic environment – no judgements or prerequisites.
  • Interactive: Learn while DOING, through hands-on sessions taught by incredible Jewish educators.
  • Implementable: We focus on teaching TANGIBLE skills which will serve you in your role as a Jewish leader – Moishe House and beyond.
In short, Moishe House Retreats are a place to learn how to be “youish” – Jewish in a way that makes sense for you!

There are two main types of Retreats:

  • Staff-Led (led by a Moishe House staff person and guest educators)
  • Peer-Led (led by a trained facilitator who participated in our Retreatology program).

See below for a calendar and descriptions of upcoming staff-led Retreats.

Jewish Educator: Coming soon!

What makes an event memorable? Is it the delicious meal served, the insightful conversations had, or the fruitful knowledge gained? Arguably, it is all three and much more, but above all, it is the thought and intention behind the event itself.

Moishe House Without Walls provides Jewish leaders worldwide with the tools and resources to create events for their own communities, but it is no secret how challenging and even isolating that work can be. Join the MHWOW community for a weekend of learning, ritual, and connection. We will come together and ask the question, “What does it mean to be intentional when creating and hosting events?” Through communal learning, conversation, puppetry, and more, we will begin to find an answer.

Food can represent many things. Not only is it a necessary form of sustenance, but it can also evoke sensations such as familiarity, intimacy, pain, and nostalgia. In the case of the Jewish people, food can also carry deep symbolism linked to spiritual and historical lessons, as well as bear the marks of centuries of happy and painful history at the same time, of diversity and deep existential dilemmas.

We invite you to spend a weekend with Moishe House in Brandsen (Province of Buenos Aires) to think and rethink Jewish food like you never did before, while meeting new people from all over Latin America, enjoying a beautiful Shabbat in nature and, of course, tasting known and new flavors.
