Dear Friends,

Early this morning, even as Russia began a wide-ranging attack on Ukraine, Moishe House staff and community builders in the region exchanged supportive messages to confirm the group’s safety. We can now verify that all Moishe House residents and employees throughout Ukraine and the broader Former Soviet Union are currently safe and accounted for.

For over 13 years, Moishe House community builders have been creating meaningful Jewish experiences throughout the Former Soviet Union. This includes four Moishe House locations in the Ukrainian cities of Dnipro, Kharkiv, Kyiv, and Odesa and two full-time staff members who reside locally as well. Despite rising political tensions, residents in these areas have continued to demonstrate their resilience and commitment to building inspiring Jewish communities including plans for collaborative virtual programming between houses in Ukraine and Russia, in the spirit of global Jewish peoplehood.

Our staff members are in constant communication with residents and hosts, sharing information and resources from local and international NGOs along with simple words of encouragement. Even as this situation continues to evolve, the safety, security and wellbeing of our community builders and colleagues remains our utmost priority.

Thank you for all your support,
