Rabbi Lonnie Kleinman

Rabbi Lonnie Kleinman is the Based-In Rabbi for the Philadelphia Base. In this role she creates the local Base community by hosting Shabbat dinners, justice programs, and holiday meals, and holds one-on-one conversations with participants.  Lonnie graduated from the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College in Philadelphia.

Lonnie has worked with Jewish communities throughout the Southern United States in a few different capacities, including as a Southern Regional Director at Moishe House. She is passionate about relational organizing and pastoral care in dreaming a future together. She currently serves as a chaplain resident at the Hospital at the University of Pennsylvania. She loves gathering inspiration for dreaming and living out this world through Talmud study, especially as exemplified in the holy connections of hevruta study. She’s an avid reader, rock climber, and embroidery maker.
