Laura Reader

West Coast Director of Advancement

Pronouns: She/Her/Hers Los Angeles, CA

Laura builds relationships with donors and potential donors to raise money to support Moishe House programming. She spends her days meeting or talking with a variety of stakeholders and working with the rest of the development team to share the Moishe House story far and wide. Her work allows her to combine her passion for people, her head for data, and her belief in an inclusive Jewish community. While Laura is well-known for her work as a development professional, her other special skill is an incredible memory for song lyrics, although when it comes to actually singing the tune, she’s at a bit of a loss.

Before joining Moishe House, Laura’s passion for people and head for data led her to pursue a BA in Sociology and a BS in Applied and Computational Mathematical Sciences at the University of Washington. Coupled with her belief in an inclusive Jewish community, she embarked on a career in Jewish communal service around the world, in places like Seattle, Boston, Los Angeles, and Israel.
