Shabbat Dinner - (7/23/2010)
Raychel was inspired by the Rainbow Gathering to compile a vegan dinner of sauteed squash eggplant peppers and onions, beans, Oriental broccoli salad, water challah (by Ti), rice, vegan mac & cheese (with special assistance from community member Dan Coate), watermelon, and vegan rootbeer cookies. We were thrilled to welcome Rachael from Moishe House Silver Spring to Shabbat dinner! We couldn't all fit around the table so many eat comfortably on the couches. It was quite a lively night as some danced in the much needed down pours.

|
Birthright NEXT Shabbat Dinner - (7/9/2010)
Raychel and community member Eden cooked a plentiful Mexican feast. The menu included Fresh Salsa, Fresh Guacamole, Build-your-own Burritos, Corn and Bean Salad, and Quesadillas. Of course, it wouldn't be Shabbat at Moishe House Cleveland without Ti's Water Challah. Even at our behest to come empty handed our community showed up with Curried Vegetable Couscous and Vegan Mac & Cheese. We were prepared to make a fried tortilla desert but the crowd couldn't handle any more food!

Moishe House Kitchen at National Rainbow Gathering - (7/1/2010)
Raychel and a group of Moishe House Cleveland participants went to the mountains of the Allegheny National Forest to connect with the national Rainbow Family. There we spent almost two weeks in a wonderfully kind hearted and scenic setting. We met many other Clevelanders and Jews from around the nation, as well as connected with old friends and made new ones. We even got to spend some time with Rachael from Moishe House Silver Springs! We were a kitchen, serving up to three meals a day, for up to 35 people per meal, for six days, including a Shabbat Dinner. Picture taking is fairly taboo at Rainbow, but we did find a few folks who didn't mind cheezin' for us.

Potluck Shabbat Dinner - (6/25/2010)
We were all geared up for our potluck with Challah, green salad and pasta with an optional pepper jack cheese sauce but by the time that twenty people had gathered the only things that were brought for the potluck were fruit & yogurt (for 10), hummus (for 4), potato salad (for 5), 2 bags of tortilla chips, 4 bottles of wine, 2 6-packs of beer and a berries, sweet cream and chocolate dessert. This was by no means enough to feed all who were hungry so we hauled out big chunks of frozen ground beef and hot dogs and char-grilled them.
