	Shabbat Dinner - (7/23/2010) It is the end of an era. MoisheNOLA�s will be hosting its last Broadmoor Shabbat Potluck and we want to invite all of our friends and supporters for this special event. We encourage you to bring your friends who don�t know MoisheNOLA so that they can become a part of our monthly tradition. As always, please bring an appetizer, entr�e or dessert to share.

	Central Asia Delegates Dinner at moisheNOLA - (7/14/2010) Tomorrow night we're going to be hosting a group from the Central Asia for a dinner at the house. dinner is for 7:00pm and we'll be catering from Lebanon's. The group is 6 delegates visiting the US to explore youth programs and development. Two are from Nepal, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.

	Yoga w/Tess - (7/12/2010) Details: Join Tess Monaghan - certified Yoga instructor - for an all-levels yoga class at the Moishe House. Last month, Tess led the class through a series of standing poses. Please bring a mat if you have one. 	Movie Night: Food Inc. - (6/15/2010) OUTDOOR MOVIE NIGHT: FOOD INC. Co Sponsor: Avodah Time: 7:00pm � Food and Drink 8:00pm �Show Time Location: Moishe House 5416 S. Tonti Summer is back, and so is MoisheNOLA�s OUTDOOR MOVIE SERIES. The driveway will be transformed into our living room for the evening. Consider bringing your favorite healthy food or beverage as this night will focus on nutritional and ethical food choices.

	'GET FIT!' - YOGA W/TESS - (6/7/2010) Tess Monaghan – certified yoga instructor – hosts her monthly Moishe House yoga class. Approximately a one-hour class, you’ll leave feeling relaxed and realigned. This class is open to all skill levels and a great opportunity to get some one-on-one instruction to refine your skills. Floor mats are available for purchase from Tess day of ($12), or bring your own.

	Dinner with Caribbean Delegates - (6/6/2010) This Sunday we'll be hosting a dinner for a group of Caribbean delegates visiting New Orleans to review the city's recovery. The group will be visiting organizations and city agencies all this week and we expect Sunday to be an interesting conversation. Following up on last week's presentation on Haiti, we're especially excited about hosting two 26 yr old representatives of Haiti. 	Community Mitzvah Day - (6/6/2010) The Jewish Federation has planed a day of service for the entire Jewish community. Moishe House will be out lending a hand. Moishe House worked on a Saint Bernard rehab project in the Hollygrove neighborhood. Also filmed a short film clip for the repair the world foundation.

	Broadmoor Fest 2010 - (5/15/2010) Visit the Moishe House Table at Broadmoor Fest!!! The 5th Annual Broadmoor Fest sponsored by the Broadmoor Improvement Association and Ochsner Baptist Medical Center! WHERE: South Galvez Street (Between Napoleon and Upperline) WHEN: Saturday, May 15 from 12-7PM This event is FREE and open to the public with food, entertainment, kids activities and fun for all ages! Come enjoy excellent food vendors serving a variety of delicious home-cooked fare, cool treats, and refreshing beverages. 	Broadmoor Crawl II - (5/14/2010) While websites and grant applications on behalf of nearly every neighborhood in this fine city claim that their stomping ground is truly the Heart of New Orleans, how many of them have a party with a theme to show for it? Make it official. Crawl with us. Each spot will take on its own variation of the theme. Directly after work: BBQ at Coach and Henry's, 4433 S. 	�Nosh and Drinks with Clive Lawton - Founder of Limmud Fest - (5/13/2010) Join us for drinks and nosh with Clive Lawton, founder of Limmud Fest. The recent LimmudFest Nola was a true success, bringing over 300 participants together to explore the many paths and topics of Judaism.

	Farewell Party - (5/12/2010) One last farewell celebration in honor of three very special New Orleanians: Zach Youngerman, Alexis Leventhal, and Nathan Ross. Before their next great adventure the New Orleans Moishe House will send them off with a party and toasts in their honors.

	Shabbat Dinner - (5/7/2010) Monthly Moishe House Shabbat Dinner. MoisheNOLA�s monthly shabbat potluck is without a doubt our house�s most special event of the month. This is a great chance to catch up with your friends, make new friends, and enjoy great food in the comfort of our home.

	Dinner Event: w/ Repair the World Foundation and Prospective MHnola Housemates - (4/12/2010) Dinner with current Avodah residents about joining MHnola in the fall. Also joined by Raema Quam of Repair the World Foundation to discuss possible partnership with MH.

	Tulane Baseball Game - (4/11/2010) SUNDAY, APRIL 11TH Tulane Baseball v. Rice @ Tulane Stadium 1:00-3:00pm Tulane baseball is underway! Support the team as they play the Fighting Owls of Rice. Join us for a milkshake or a burger at the FroStop before crossing Claiborne to Tulane Stadium for the big game.

	Halachah of Beer Making w/Getzel - (4/5/2010) We are pleased to host Getzel for a second conversation at the house. Getzel's first visit brought an inspired conversation about the Jewish Law related to Dumpster Diving. His second visit will look deep into the practice and social aspects of beer making and how law applies to intoxicated individuals and the community as a whole. Join us at 6:30 for a light dinner before this event, or at 7pm for dessert and conversation. After the conversation stick around for the NCAA Championship Game. We�ll have the game on in the next room.

	East-over Brunch - (4/4/2010) Easter bunch with a passover menu. Good friends sharing a delicious rack of meat. Conversation about family, and Easter/Passover tradition.

	Passover Seder - (3/30/2010) This is the bread of affliction, the poor bread, which our ancestors ate in the land of Egypt. Let all who are hungry come and eat. Let all who are in want, share the hope of Passover. � the Passover Haggadah I want to invite you to a Passover Seder for Tuesday, March 30th at the Moishe House (5416 S. Tonti) for 7:00pm. Find the Afikoman. Prove your bravery by eating the most Maror. The Moishe House has not had its "Bedikah Chametz" (discarding non-passover foods), however we will be having a kosher-for passover potluck. We invite you to bring anything to the Seder that you may find meaningful or symbolic. Nathan Rothstein is preparing some materials for the Seder so that we can all follow along. Jon will be making Matzo Ball Soup and the roasted egg on the table will be from our own backyard.

	Friday Night Dinner, Mishigas and Minyan - (3/19/2010) A special Friday Night Dinner where Moishe House Hosted Krewe du Mishigas and the recently formed River Minyan. River Minyan led a Shabbat Service and an exciting mix of new people to the house. Special thanks to Rachie and Yaeli for organizing the event.

	Prof. Campanella Lecture w/ Harvard and Church of The Annunciation - (3/17/2010) Tulane Prof. and acclaimed New Orleans geographer, Richard Campanella, will lead a lecture on the cultural geography of New Orleans for students of Harvard Kennedy School and friends of Moishe House. Please come a few minutes early, Moishe House will be providing an ice cream sundae bar.

	Krewe Du Vieux Parade w/ Krewe du Mishigas - (1/30/2010) Location: Marigny/French Quarter 6:30PM � till� Keep an eye out for Moishe House as we join KdM for the second year. The Krewe du Vieux was founded in 1987 from the ashes of the storied Krewe of Clones. This wild, satirical Carnival parade first marched in 1978.

	Bike TuneUP/Decoration - (1/28/2010) We�ll be hosting a bike TuneUp/decorating night in preparation for Mardi Gras. Check out the Facebook page for more info. Jeff�s excited about the decoration he picked up cheap at Dollar General and spray painted Black & Gold. You may bring your own flair or tuneUP tools, but the house will provide some for you to use.

	Night with Avodah - (1/25/2010) Moishe House Join's the Avodah house for a discussion of the Moishe House Mission and potential space at the house. The discussion follows to provide detail on finding professional positions.

	Jewish Funds for Justice Panel Discussion #2 - (1/19/2010) Moishe House Hosts a Jewish Funds for Justice Panel discussion with the Center for Ethical Living. The discussion focuses on New Orleans culture and issues related to Hurricane Katrina and the recovery effort.

	Country Shabbat Potluck - (1/15/2010) Its a Countryfied shabbat potluck this Friday at the Moishe House. We have three talented guests from the woodlands of the Pioneer Valley (Amherst, MA) in town for the weekend. The night may break into an improptu jam session so bring any instruments you may have.

	Halachah of Dumpster Diving - (1/11/2010) Visiting Rabbinical Student Getzel Hosts a night of Talmud at the Moishe House. Getzel focuses the conversation on the laws of property and charity associated with dumpster diving.

	Joshua Venture Group - (12/2/2009) Over the next two years, Joshua Venture Group will support eight young Jewish social entrepreneurs in realizing their visions to transform the Jewish landscape. Moishe Nola hosted an information session on their $100,000 social entreprenuership awards.

James Perry is currently the Executive Director of the New Orleans Fair Housing Advocacy Group and has announced his intention to be the next Mayor of New Orleans. The Moishe House supports Jame�s fresh perspective and energy for reforming local government.

	Exploring the Gulf: Tubing on the North Shore - (8/23/2009) Another event in our series Exploring the Gulf takes the Moishe House and a group of regulars across Lake Pontchartrain to spend a quiet afternoon floating the Bogue Chitto.

	Friday Night Dinner: Special Guest PBS - (8/14/2009) Moishe House Hosts our regular Friday Night Dinner. This week PBS sent along a crew to interview the members of the house and film Shabbat Dinner for an upcoming piece on the program Religion and Ethics. The Moishe House feature is scheduled to air August 28th nationwide.

	Ted and Jessica's Going Away - (8/12/2009) It's a Going-Away Party! As ardent friends and supporters of Ted Hornick and Jessica Price, we're going to make sure that they get a proper send-off. Ted "Tedley" Hornick is off to Maine to become the only great American writer with an exclusive Teva sponsorship. Ms. Jessica "Jay" Price is leaving on a jet plane back to California to help the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals solve the constitutionality of the baseball juicing scandal. 	Learning Night with Rabbi Uri - (7/27/2009) MONDAY, July 27th The Origin of Tikkun Olam: Jewish Learning Night #2 with Rabbi Uri 6:00-8:00PM If you've ever volunteered with your Synagogue or participated in Jewish community service then you are most likely aware of the word Tikkun Olam, "Perfecting the World." 	Broadmoor Census Work - (7/19/2009) Moishe House regulars lend a hand with the Broadmoor Census Project. The Broadmoor neighborhood has been facilitating a neighborhood census this summer to gather information on neighborhood emergency preparedness, and the unmet recovery needs of households effected by hurricane Katrina. Its often difficult to mobilize workers on a sunday morning, and MHNOLA provided some extra bodies and extra incentives with morning pastries and post census lunch.

	Explore the Gulf: Beaches and Casinos In MS - (7/11/2009) As another event in our Explore the Gulf series Moishe House journeys to Mississippi. Adventure follows. The keys are lost at the beach, but an old man with a metal detector comes to the rescue. A trip to the Boomtown Casino proves to be a luck trip for the Moishe house, as blackjack comes in big.

	Gospel Church - (7/5/2009) Explore the local new orleans culture by visiting churches. the particular neighborhood of Central City was was the Jewish Neighborhood and now is home to a number of Black and Hispanic Churches. Sunday's Event is a visit to the original Beth Israel, now New Home Welcome Center, with Pastor Blakes. Photos didn't come out. screen doesn't work and women didn't point the camera straight.

	Moishe Movie Night - Point Break - (6/29/2009) Moishe House is showing Point Break and Serving up Meatball Sandwiches for a special Monday Event.

	An Evening with the Master Plan and Goody Clancy - (6/18/2009) MoisheNola hosted an evening with Goody Clancy Planners to review their work on producing a final Master Planning document for the City of New Orleans. This was an opportunity to have a candid discussion about the Master Plan - its content, role, limitations, and how we will bring the projects and ideas of New Orleanians to fruition.

	Potluck Shabbat Dinner - June - (6/12/2009) We had a potluck Shabbat Dinner with some special guests from Broadmoor CDC. Over 15 interns from Notre Dame, Harvard and Bard joined us for dinner.

	KICKBALL FOR KIDS - (5/31/2009) SUNDAY, MAY 31TH KICKBALL FOR KIDS @ UPTOWN JCC (ST. CHARLES/JEFFERSON) 10AM-7:00PM This promises to be a fun filled day. 	EXPLORE THE GULF: FRIDAY NIGHT CAMPING - (5/22/2009) EXPLORE THE GULF: FRIDAY NIGHT CAMP OUT @ TICKFAW STATE PARK (MEET AT MOISHE HOUSE AND CARPOOL LEAVES AT 4PM) FRIDAY 3PM - SATURDAY 12PM New to the gulf coast? Enjoy being outdoors? Join Moishe House for a new regular event "Explore the Gulf." The first trip will be to Tickfaw State Park, 45min NW of town off Historical Hwy 55. Ride sharing is to be arranged a week before the event for those shown as attending. You are invited to contact the house by email or through the Facebook page to express your interest and your available camping supplies. If camping is not your thing, not to worry...keep an eye out for future "Explore the Gulf" events that will offer a shared cabin option.

	Game Night: Cashflow - (4/27/2009) Moishe House invites friends to play Rich Dad's Cashflow. Cashflow is the game that empowers a conversation about money and how it can work for individuals and the community. This event is extended to friends, coworkers and also to the community through craigslist.

	Movie Night: TBD - (4/21/2009) Moishe House Movie Night takes it to the Street. Moishe House takes our projector and screen outside for a showing of a kid/adult friendly movie. We aim to entertain friends and neighbors with a movie on the driveway.

	Jewish Movie Night - Waltz with Bashir - (2/27/2009) Moishe Nola treated 6 friends to tickets for the Israeli anime flick 'Waltz with Bashir'. A beautiful, insightful, and haunting movie 'Walts with Brashir' tells the story of Israeli soldiers involvement in the Lebanon war. Drinks were had afterward to continue a discussion about the movie.

	Moishe Mardi Gras Day - 100 years of Zulu! - (2/24/2009) (Please note this event was actually 2/24/09 - it was accidentally entered on the 14th and does not seem editable) Fat Tuesday in New Orleans!!!! Moishe House got an early start to this one making arrangements with friends of Moishe Nola to gather to watch the Zulu parade at 7:45 am! This parade marked the 100 year anniversary of Zulu. Historically an African American parade, Zulu was prohibited from parading through the uptown section of New Orleans until the late 1960's. After Zulu Moishe House led a bike brigade to the French Quarter for the last day of carnival revelry.

	Moishe House hits Mom's Ball - (2/21/2009) One of the 'must see' balls of Mardi Gras, Mom's ball did not disappoint. For the sake of keeping the Mintranet PG lets just say this is one not for the faint at heart. Loads of fun though, and lots of friends. The theme for the night 'Double Exposure' was attempted by the Moishe House members who dressed as members of the 1970's disco group Double Exposure.

	Dr. Dog Concert - (2/17/2009) Moishe House grabbed our friends and headed to One Eyed Jack's in the French Quarter for a night of music. The historic and ornate venue was a site to behold, and the band did not disappoint. Those catchy tunes are stilling ringing in my ears.

	Krewe du veiux Parade and Ball - (2/7/2009) After weeks of float building, costume making, and tremendous anticipation, Moishe House residents, Krewe du Mishigas members, and friends of Moishe Nola joined together to celebrate the Krewe du Veiux. The theme for the parade was 'Stimulus Package'. Known for its insightful satire and general spectacle, the 2009 Krewe du Vieux was a great success. Parading through the historic French Quarter, followed by the Krewe du Vieux Ball, a great time was had by all. Krewe du Mishigas is one of 2 Jewish Mardi Gras Krewes in New Orleans. Moishe House is honored to have been invited into this exclusive Krewe, and looking forward to continued gatherings with the Mishigas over the coming year.

	Float Build - Krewe du Mishigas - (2/1/2009) Friends of the Moishe Nola lend a hand to build the float and design costumes for the Krewe du Mishigas. The entire Krewe Du Vieux parade gathers every Sunday at the 'Den' for good times and craftsmanship in preparation for parade day!

	Friday Night Dinner - (1/16/2009) Our biggest shabbat dinner yet! With the addition of Volunteers from Bard College, who'd spent their week volunteer with the Broadmoor Improvement Association, this was the biggest potluck shabbat MoisheNola has done to date. Wonderful to have so many new faces in the home. Night ended with a bonfire in the backyard.

	JCC Directors Rebuild Broadmoor! - (1/12/2009) Participants of the JCC directors conference work to rebuild a Broadmoor house. Broadmoor took on more than 7' of water during Hurricane Katrina. These volunteers painted and helped rebuild the home of a family trying to recover and return to New Orleans. What a great day of service!

	Fair Grounds - Horse Track - (1/11/2009) Spent the day with friends of Moishe NOLA at the Fair Grounds Horse Track. A beautiful day at the races, and everyone came home a winner!

	MH NOLA Speaks at National JCC Dinner - (1/11/2009) Moishe House residents were invited to speak to participants of the JCC aspiring directors program. High level JCC employees with ambitions to become directors held a training conference in New Orleans and asked Moishe House to speak to issues of the recovery of the jewish community and rebuilding in New Orleans . Event took place at the Hotel Monteleon. Jonathan and Gill spoke for about 30 minutes before an engaging question and answer session.

	Brown Univ Mixer - Mayoral Candidate Fireside Chat - (1/6/2009) We had a discussion with Brown University students and candidate for Mayor James Perry. Pizza was provided.

	NOLA Panel for United Reform Judaism Service Trip - (12/22/2008) Three New Orleans Jewish young professionals held a discussion at the Moishe house with 30 service trip volunteers from United Reform Jewish Congregation (not sure on exact name). Pizza was served and MH entire wine rack was cleared.

	Latke-Off @ Touro's - (12/19/2008) Who makes the best Latke? Not me cause there were to amazing contributions - banana latkes and apple latkes. Pure sweetness.

	Hornick Hoedown #24 - (12/12/2008) A Birthday party for everyone's favorite literati, Ted Hornick.

	Thanksgiving Dinner and Book Swap - (11/27/2008) Cooked enormous Thanksgiving feast, swapped books and watched football (GO EAGLES!). Friends, relaxation, and boat loads of holiday spirit.

	The Great Movie Watching Society - (11/16/2008) Zohan is here and fantastic. We were upset that our camera crapped out on us. More and more people kept popping the door open to check out people messing with the Zohan only to be immensely regretful.

	3rd Space - Broadmoor Development Program - (10/29/2008) Moishe House hosted a community charette for the 3rd Space - Broadmoor Development Program. The group plans to develop a commercial venture in the Broadmoor neighborhood and inquired if the local N.O. Moishe House might be used for the community to discuss these plans.
