Moishe House New Orleans is a local house that aims to promote a vibrant and diverse Jewish community of people in their 20s and 30s. At the core of Moishe House New Orleans is an understanding that Jewish, young professionals seek a place where they can be themselves and meet interesting new people. Most importantly, Moishe House New Orleans will be fun hosting events like BBQ's, Shoresh: Jewish Roots in New Orleans, neighborhood volunteering, Shabbat dinners and parties. Drop on by.
At the core of Moishe House New Orleans is an understanding that Jewish, young professionals seek a place that supports their personal development and opportunities for meaningful connections. We are diverse: a spectrum of interests, careers, religious preferences and goals. Thus, the Moishe House does not adhere to any one Jewish denomination.
Moishe House is located in the heart of the city, Broadmoor. This is a deliberate decision that aims to tie the neighborhood's rich Jewish history and current revitalization needs into the values of the Moishe House. New Orleans needs every resident to be an active civic participant, and the Moishe House will answer this call to action.
Most importantly, Moishe House New Orleans will be fun. BBQ's, unique guest speakers, croquet in the courtyard, neighborhood volunteering, Shabbat dinners and parties. Only our ingenuity and aspirations limit the activities at The Moishe House. We are also interested in collaborating with other Jewish and non-Jewish initiatives around New Orleans.
We are currently looking for a 3rd roommate, preferably a woman in order to provide balance. The participant receives a significant rent-stipend. Feel free to let your friends and colleagues know of the opportunity. The Moishe House New Orleans is made possible by The Forest Foundation's funding and support.
